Dolce Vita

I love Life.
I want to live it - the way I'm meant to live it. Truly, Madly. Deeply....
So I'll fall down once in a while.
I'll win sometimes. I'll lose often.
I'll laugh a lot. I'll cry some more. And some of them tears will be joyous ones.
I'll see a thousand sunsets, I'll paint a few.
Before this joyride is over, I'll fall in love, have my heart broken a few times and experience moments of deep frustration.
But I'll also be witness to great friendship, unabandoned love and reckless passion.
Few of my prayers will be answered. Most of my dreams will shatter. But the ones that remain will give me more joy that I had wished for.
Some days will be terrible and others will be terrific. I'll remember them all.
Every once in a while I'll be desolate and inconsolable and need serious rescuing from rock bottom. There will be times I'll swing a sword to perfection on the top of a snow clad mountain with a red flag in the background.
I'll fight bad hair days, weight gain and two left feet.
I'll also enjoy madly .. books, ice cream and rain.
I'll be anxious and stressed often. I'll also have immense gratitude and joy.
I'll be my worst enemy and my best friend.
There are times I'll display immense stupidity. I only hope to do it gracefully.
I'll probably never learn to knit but hopefully will be able to tie the lose ends of my world together.
Somedays I'll wake up and draw the sheets back over my head, on others I'll kiss the sunlight silly.
There will be days that will stretch forever. There will also be moments that take my breath away.
I'll be serious about life ....I'll learn to laugh at myself hopefully.
Every moment that I feel alive, I'll feel powerful and blessed.
One day I'll do something that will change everything. It could be today.
Good Morning World !

Aaaj Kaal

The crazy thing about life is that things have to get really worse before they start getting better.
And in the interim while the darkest storm brews, all we can do is wait.
The good thing about life is that some storms you don't have to weather alone and that there is beauty in breakdown also.
Its funny how many things I've learnt to appreciate about my life in the past 3 brutal weeks here at the ISB. These past few weeks definitely haven't been for the faint of heart ..and no amount of practice in the ring prepares you for the knockout of your life.
The kind of weeks where I log a post each night but don't publish it - some days I'd rather just forget about.
I've though about this more often in the past few weeks that before - that if someday I was too look back on my life and say write a book - which chapter would be the longest, the dreariest, the teariest ..and the past year at ISB - where would that fit it ?
Its weird how my head sees my life as these compartments - before Florida - After Florida - Before Atlanta- Before Gurgaon - Post ISB and so on ..when really ..inside my heart, its all one big mess most days.
I have been guilty of so many things these past weeks, crying meaninglessly, feeling too much, writing to little, forgetting to call friends back, just getting from day to day without much thought
..the list goes on.
But its been one of those times when I've felt the need to internalise so many things, some lessons are meant to be learnt alone and when life hands you a personal lesson, you just have to sit up and listen.
But like Santiago said - the darkest hour is always before dawn and its bright and sunny this side of Char Minaar already :)
So heres to another time of in betweens - before the next wave of change hits and the surfs calls out my name for another ride.
Thank God I have enough.

Penny Lane is in my mind ...

What is security?
I once read that “security” is when we are little kids – riding in a car with our parents. We sit in the backseat and look out of the rear view window. And we don’t have to worry about a thing.
We look at the citylights and the trees and wave at strangers in other cars and smile at the lights.
But then...Everything changes.
We grow up and nothing is ever that simple again.
So where do we go from here ?
Its funny what thoughts cross my mind when someone says " Tell me about yourself" ...
Where do I start ?
Does it really matter in the end ? ...or at the beginning ?
What about the in between's ?
So what is it in the end - is it fate ..or is it faith?
For a bright sunny day here - this side of Char Minaar - too much ambiguity floats in the air.
And yet again - I find myself looking for a reason. To hold on.
Time will outweigh this moment.
