Ceteris Paribus

Most economic theories I am reading nowadays revolve around the concept that in latin literally means " All else held equal".
I guess - drowning in my own wishing well and trying to keep my head above the choppy waters that the past few weeks have been - I cant help but wonder .. What do I hold fixed in my life ?
When does "Centeris Paribus" hold true for me.
Do I look at a snapshot .. a week ..a month. Do I assume that the rest of the world ..close friends , siblings , family, friends I've never even met - are all going to wait .. while my world tilts on its axis and tries to achieve a state of "perfect equilibrium".
Do I just fixate on that notion.
Or should I look at the people around me and the seasons that are changing as rapidly and the pages turning in my stats textbook.
The more I think about it - the more I am convinced that this equilibrium is not going to be something external. I'm going to have to create it - internally.
Its going to take a lot of work to keep the part of me - that runs barefoot in the grass while the wind plays with my hair- alive, inspired and present for the next one year.
Its going to be a challenge to hold on to my beliefs and my faith and my truths.
Its going to be crazier to let go and change parts of me that have existed for ever just to keep the equation balanced.
I guess I better get working on it - Something tells me its going to be a long day.
