Shape of Things

and I guess its another Kausim ..

When I was young - I used to focus on two things ..beginnings and endings .
Beginnings are wonderful - one can never feel as excited , hopeful or positive except at the very beginning of something ..whether it is a friendship , relationship , job , career , poem , painting , cooking a meal,watching a movie or setting of on a drive .
Endings are special in their own way . Not only do they mark the culmination long drawn projects ,goals ,paths, some involving real people and emotions , helping us come to terms with the journey and the destination ...but more often than not - they are also beginnings in their own right .
Life then I though would be circular , no edges , no beginnings and endings ..everything flowing fluently like a well strung note perfectly in accord with the next one ..so on and so forth .

My life will always be one with several beginnings and several endings ....nearly none of them as planned .
A lot of times what happens in between changes the entire end - or at least makes us wish for another ending than what we hoped for at the very onset of a journey .
Its still hard to remind myself whenever unplanned uncontrolled things happen - that if every beginning I have even had - was to have ended in the exact precise ending I'd envisioned back then ..I would not be half of the person I now am ..would probably not be half as happy or complete as I now am ..and there is still so much room to grow .

Technically though we all are born once and die at the end of our time ..I firmly believe that in the span of our life ...we are born and we die several times ...like one of those submarine afflicetd videogames ..where we get a life for every obstacle we cross - and even though we might die ..in the next version we come back having learned more lessons with more lives to spare and can apply them and hopefully stay alfoat a little longer .

Life - how its turned out to be is less circular and more spherical ..with repeating cross sections that reoccur and intersect frequently .
Although I still enjoy the starts and ends of journeys , plans , phases ..I think that the "middles" are more significant than anything else . What lies close to the center - to the heart of things is what really makes a difference ..and as the years add on ..life grows outwards ..extending in all directions ..balancing from inside .The greater mass we contain within - the more surface area of our mind and lives we expose to the outer unknowns.
Its true then isnt it - like Archimedes said in his day . If our life is really a sphere - and we do give someone room to stand - technically they can move our world .

Meanwhile I guess while the earth makes it way around the sun - we try to come to terms with the shape of things as they are and as we hope they will infact be .
