Samedi - Dimache

This weekend started on Friday afternnon with Germany beating Costa Rica 4-2 and ended on Sunday with Nadal making me cry with this sheer love for the sport , Game :Set : Match

My house was converted into a mini ESPN sports center ..and all in all ..it was one of those weekends where you are glad that the T.V comes with a remote so you can switch back and forth between channels in the adrenalin rush !

Friday evening was humid and sultry and we couldnt think of a better was to spend it that eating lots of chaat - I cant live without Sev Puri anyways ..in a world of international cuilinary choices - my weakness in good old sev puri - even better if its served on a newspaper you can read at the end of ot with kaccha aam on top ! ...aisi kismat kaha ...but we had some pretty decent chaat ..and then headed ..full on full speed ..for the first day first show of Phir Hera Pheri !!!!

I laughed so hard in the first half of the movie ..I'm sure poor Kunal will never want to give anymore high fives in his life ..lol! ...the second half was like Lock Stock and Two Smoking barrels ..which i think is one of the outstanding movies of this decade ..so I wasnt too happy ..but if you havent watched it - you will love PHP . Paresh Rawal is outstanding ...and Akki is to die for ! ...my all time favorite bolloywood dialogue is from Hera Pheri ..(" Aree ..Laxmi tumhare mathhe pe tikka laga ne ki soch rahi hai ..aur ek tum ho ki mooh dhone ki baat kar rahe ho "
.....has been replaced ..by a new even better psychedelic one from this movie !!..call me and I'll tell you what it is ..lol! ...I'd say ..put on your funny hat and go for this one !

Saturday was amazing ! ..imagine putting up an alarm to wake up early ....sleep walk into the living room ..and turn on the TV ...and theres 22 incredibly hot sweaty guys fighting over a ball ....(All I wanted was for it to rain in Germany and that would have made it incredible !!!,,anyways.)
.and while you are still trying to brew some coffee ..GOAAL!!!...in the 4th freaking minute ...that too an own goal ...Good Morning America !

...ran after the match to Yoga ..to drive home like a maniac to watch the next one ....ate Lunch ..and then took a nap ..and woke up to watch the Argentina and Cote D' Ivoire ....

Shashanks mom made some amazing kanda poha ..coupled with some rocking bhakarwadi from goold old chitale bandu ..and besan ke ladoo ....and all of shankys ghati jokes !!!
Nandu , Ushie : I missed you a lot saturday ! ...shashank was getting jammed and i wanted to applaud ..full laughter happened!

Then Faiza and I had some amazing persian tea and spoke about the usual :)

Sunday was even better - I had the Iran - Mexico game going on in the living room ...and the french open final in my bedroom ...hahahahh! ..it was amazing ....I saw Mexico win just in time ..to swtich on to the last set and tie break ...I have to say that seeing Nadal's passionate play was the high point of this weekend ...I was sooo happy ..great mental strength and an amazing game ...

Ended the weekend with Dawn and me in Vatica with samsoas and chai .
I remember sitting at shettys in Bombay doing the same on sleepy sundays ...so waht If I'm years older and a thousand miles off location ..Life ..Sab Maya Hai !

I think a lot of the things you need to learn about Life - you can learn from sports . ..and this weekend ..I certainly didnt waste any time in my lesson !
