Regular tear jerking hair pulling sessions in the gym notwithstanding - I am a bonafide founding member of the "Wait Watchers" club.
An infamous group of anonymous - cautiously optimistic - secretly hopeful people that wait and watch.
Whenever we are stuck in situations that demand patience and command frustration - we say ..lets wait and watch. Things will change. Its only a matter of time.
Time. Waqt. Samay - is unfortunatly on his own power trip. Time's not watching and definately not waiting.
Meredith once talked about a "Say when" syndrome. People in the wait watchers club also suffer from this. Basically - when moms serve dinner or someone pours milk in that much needed cuppa - they say .. "Say when" ..unfortunately .. the cup is never full ..Half full ..but with a burning desire to be Full - Full. So we never "Say when" ... always want more .. of everything .. more love, more commitment, more freedom, more parking space, more friends, more travel, more everything.
So while we "wait watch" and dont "say when" ... we run the precarious risk of just passing through life .. waiting for that one moment in time when we will be happy ..no realising that ..this is it. Now is the time to be happy. Lest someday we wake up and realise that infact right now right here is the best of times - now if only someone had told us.
It is hard to give up the membership of this club. Theres no membership dues - only time.
And time - I aint got muccha.
So its time to stop watching .. and definately stop waiting ..and get on with the best year of my life.
Amen.
