Free Willy

Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere
Yet sometimes in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself
H2

I went to bed at 4 am this morning - my mind resplendent as usual with questions on current whereabouts, decisions and what nots. I just woke up wondering how I was going to get past today. Not beat it, or magically do something historic ..just get past the brutal hourfest. Thats the general plan for the day.
Then the universe has a message.

I was casually reading some news and I cam across this "An 18-foot minke whale ran aground on a sandbar in the Amazon jungle some 1,000 miles from the ocean, Brazilian media reported Friday. Sea creatures rarely venture so far into fresh water.Scientists said the whale was 18 feet long and weighed about 12 tons, and were working to dislodge the mammal and return it to the ocean."

I bet he is trying to get past the day too.
What a 18 feet long whale would be doing swimming in the deep Amazon- god alone knows. What must he have thought before taking on that journey ? Did he just stray and get lost ?
Or was he trying to find something ? someone?
1000 miles. I dont know how long it takes to swim that length - but I am guessing that it musnt have been easy. And especially so with all the humans saying that it wasnt his place to be.

Journeys.
Some of them bring us home and some of them take us very very far away from the familiar. Measurably so. Some journeys we go one without moving an inch. Only in our minds.
Yet - our hearts thump with the excitement of the unknown, our mind pants with the wear of the wanderer and our gaze scans the hopeful horizon of what is and what is yet to be.
Sometimes we get lost yet at other times we lose ourselves to the journey.

Yet the truth remains that much of what we hold true rarely comes to us instantly where we are. We have to let go and travel. Maybe a 1000 miles or maybe even further, get stranded in the middle of a jungle and lie out there in the sun gasping while the rest of the world phoofoos our quest by saying that we werent meant to be on that journey at all.
And while we are out there - getting our backs fried in the harsh sun - we hope that somehow there will be meaning and there will be closure and like Alice said to the cat .. we get somewhere.

Willy - I hope you find your way.
